THE PENTAGON PAPERS AND THE VIETNAM WAR

        The leak of the Pentagon Papers in 1971 by Daniel Ellsberg not only further amplified the public’s discontent towards the United States’ involvement in Vietnam War; it was also the first major incident in American history in which the federal government’s subversive actions were directly exposed to the American people, which in turn altered society’s perception of the federal government forever.
